All About the Back
Pullup bars are essential to exercising the muscle groups in the back. However, as you might already know, there are a few restrictions when it comes to selecting the right pull up bar. These restrictions are reviewed in detail in the Pullup Bar Buying Guide section, and they include 1) whether you have a standard western sized door, 2) whether you want to drill holes in your walls/ceiling, and 3) how much space you have.
The exercises you can perform on a pullup bar are quite similar, regardless of which type of pullup bar you have. Therefore, this section will focus on training your back without a pullup bar. Before we get into the alternative exercises, we would like to recommend you in finding a playground or park with a pullup bar close to your home. You can always plan your workout with 1 or 2 days in a park, and get the benefits of having a pullup bar.
If working out with an outdoor pullup bar is not possible, there are two options from which you can choose：
